Y'all! What an awesome surprise this place was! My boyfriend and I go down to Folly beach as often as possible and pass by this place every time we go but have never stopped in. While I have loved most of the places we have gone down there to eat I gotta say this place was not what we expected in such a great way!
We walked in around 9 pm on a Thursday night and it had a small crowd with almost all seats at the bar taken. I love the fact that this place had a portion of the bar positioned so that people can sit on the patio and still be sitting at the bar. We walked around only to see that all seats were taken except two but there was a person sitting in between them. Right before we almost gave in and sat at a table the patron that was sitting in the middle of the two open seats offered to move over so that we could sit together at the bar - what a nice guy!!! It didn't stop there though - as soon as we sat the bartender came up and offered us menus and the drink specials and asked if we had been there before - this is definitely one of those places that has a pretty heavy amount of regulars and you'll feel it as soon as you walk in - however unlike a lot of places that have that following that can make you feel like an immediate outsider everyone here was super welcoming. We asked a few questions to which the bartender knew all the answers and he made some great suggestions we ordered the Margherita pizza and my guy got a build your own pizza with all the veggies.
Food was awesome and the staff was exceptional. They have a large patio that's great for warm nights or days of people watching. Theres a private parking lot and the bathrooms were clean.. My one down side is that there weren't a whole lot of options for non meat eaters - this place is a meat heavy menu! They do half price burgers on Thursdays that everyone around me raved about so definitely check them out when in the James Island area!!!!
Highly recommend for a great bite to eat that won't break your bank. We got the Margherita pizza ( half off all pizzas on Wednesday) and it was very good for only under $6! The only problem I had was the crust could have been a little more done but the toppings were far better than I would have expected. The Roadhouse burger was phenomenal. Peach bbq, bacon, onion straws. The meat was thick and very juicy, the steam was coming off after every bite. Total bill was only $17 for great food for 2 people who left very full and very satisfied.
This is a great little local restaurant/bar on the island. If offers indoor and outdoor seating and a huge parking lot that wraps around to both sides of the building. The last time I went, it was cold and there was no heated seating outside. There are a couple of long high top tables (family style/shared), large booths, and regular booths, in addition to sitting at the bar inside however. With all of this space, it still doesn't seem like enough seating when the place gets packed. And it gets pretty packed. And often. They offer deals and most of the locals like to take advantage of discounts. On Wednesday night for example, they have half price bottles of wine, and half off pizzas. The pizzas are personal size, but we usually can't eat it all in one sitting. I like to get the margherita and add bacon, or build my own.
They have tvs inside and out so if you're trying to catch a game, this might be your spot. Staff are always friendly and helpful. There is only one bathroom for woman and one for men, so occasionally you have to wait. Plan ahead is all I have to say. There always seems to be an upbeat vibe and it can get a little noisy, so if you're looking for quiet, you might want to sit outside. You can also bring your dog if you're sitting outside so that's a win for a lot of people. No matter if you're meeting your best buddy or a huge group of friends, you're bound to have a great time.
Ill be short and sweet. I love this place because of their weekday specials. I went on their website and it said "1/2 off pizzas and wine all day." So im thinking great! I order a pizza for pick up, and get there and its full price. The bartender said that I got the day mixed up, so I showed her my phone (where it clearly says 1/2 of pizza and wine), so she shows it to the manager, and comes back and says sorry its our mistake.
Ive worked in food and bev for over a decade, and anytime that we (the restaurant I worked at) made a mistake, we corrected it. If the customer made a mistake, then its up for discussion. So the manager didnt give me the 1/2 discount that was stated on their website, and I left for a 20 min drive home (I only drove out because of the deal).
Sad because I really like this place, but have such a bad taste in my mouth from the experience with the bartender and manager. Oh Well.
Not bad for half off pizza Wednesdays! I had the buffalo chicken pizza and it was really good
